The Local Food Initiative was established in 2018 and is run by a volunteer committee. It connects locals and out-of-towners to their the food producers and artisans in their community who make or use local material in their craft. 

Our goal is achieved by way of a local producer/product directory, markets and events, social media and email notices, as well as monthly articles and blog posts.

The local food initiative strives to provide learning opportunities where people can gain agricultural and homesteading skills, and learn how to incorporate local ingredients in their everyday life.
