Wildfire Farms

Wildfire Farms began ten years ago with a vision of direct marketing grass-fed beef from the Barnabe family beef ranch direct to the consumer. Meaghan Barnabe, owner of the venture, hopes to share with others all the nutrient dense healthy meat that she and her family has always had access too. Her farm is located in Woodmore MB where she lives and raises her three children. Since startup Wildfire Farms has expanded from strictly beef sales, to heritage pork, free range chicken, and also honey. They have plenty of variety, cuts, roasts, sausages, organ meats, soup bones available all year round.


 Direct marketing and selling requires an incredible amount of administrative work and Meaghan excels at that aspect of owning the business and is the farms’ go-to person for customer service, inquires and marketing.

 

She regularly attends the St Norbert market on Saturday and has various delivery points for her products. She also operates an active online store. (See www.wildfirefarms.ca/.)

 

Wildfire Farms beef is 100% grass raised and finished. Cattle are rotated on native pastures and are kept 28-36 months for ultimate quality and flavor. Grass fed beef has many health benefits and is an excellent source of vitamins A, E, beta-carotene, Omega-3 fatty acids and CLA.


 Meaghan’s chickens and pigs are also raised in large spaces outdoors. Although chickens and pigs cannot survive on a diet strictly based on grasses, they are fed a variety of local grains, without corn or soy, and are allowed to grow at a slower more natural rate than conventional barn-raised chickens and pigs.
